Dear Missouri Deer Hunters,
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) needs your support to help protect Missouri's wild deer, and those who hunt them, from the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD).
MDC is proposing common-sense regulation changes for deer breeding facilities and preserves to help limit the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in Missouri. These changes involve more effective fencing to separate captive and free-ranging deer, restricting the importation of live deer into Missouri, and mandatory disease testing.
QDMA supports these common-sense changes to help protect wild deer and the rights of deer hunters to pursue healthy, wild whitetails on private and public lands. If you agree, we urge you to get involved and support MDC in approving these proposed changes. The deer-breeding industry is working to block these new restrictions, so Missouri's deer hunters must speak out as well.
There are two ways to get involved.
1. Let MDC know you support these proposals through an easy online survey at the MDC website. Click here to share your input
2. Attend one of several public hearings coming up in September and October throughout Missouri. At these meeetings, you'll learn more about the CWD issue in Missouri and have an opportunity to share your opinion. Click here to learn more and see the schedule of public hearings.
Thank you for taking action in support of Missouri's wild whitetails!
Sincerely,
